Product Description

These Hunter Douglas Installation brackets fit all Silhouette Shades every manufactured.  It doesn't matter how old they are.

These replacement mounting brackets are for Hunter Douglas Silhouette Window Shades or the Hunter Douglas Nantucket Shades.  Hunter Douglas Silhouette Shades were introduced to the marketplace in 1991 and these brackets are the latest design for the Silhouette Shades.  These newly designed brackets (see photos) will still work on your Silhouette Shade even if it was manufactured in 1991 or if you had an older version (see photos) of the bracket.  The newly updated brackets will be shipped due to there is no longer production of the old brackets.  The new updated Hunter Douglas Silhouette Shade brackets have the same dimensions for the screw holes so you can use the same holes to line up your new brackets in the same spot as the old ones.  These brackets work with all vane sizes 2", 3" or 4" even though the 4" Silhouette Headrail is different shaped these Silhouette Shade brackets will still work.  They also work with the Hunter Douglas Silhouette oversized headrail and the 4" headrail which is slightly different design.  How to replace Hunter Douglas Silhouette Shade brackets.  Remove old brackets, and screw new ones in the same holes.  The newly updated brackets have the same hole dimensions as the old ones.  You can also break off the tab pieces of the Silhouette Shade Brackets in order to get the bracket to move back further toward the window when installing the new brackets.

How to install Hunter Douglas Installation Brackets:

IMPORTANT - If drilling into drywall make sure the screw is long enough to reach the wood behind the drywall.  You can tell because your drill will give you some resistance once it starts hitting the wood.  If drilling into drywall the screw must be drilled into the wood or your Hunter Douglas Silhouette may fall off the wall because drywall alone cannot hold the weight of the Silhouette Shade.

1.  You will notice that there is a small tab and a larger tab on the bracket.  You don't need these tabs and both of them can be removed by bending them back and forth to remove.

2.  Mark your position on the wall or door by placing the bracket in the desired position and them use the provided screw to mark where you want to drill the screw into the wall or door.

3.  Put the screw threw the proper hole in the bracket and then put the drill socket over the screw head and hold the bracket with your opposite hand.  This way the bracket is lightly pressing on against the screw head while your drilling the screw in and this will give you a better chance that the drill will not slip off the screw head while drilling.
